Painting Hands - Collective Mural

The Mural is a culmination of several different activities regarding color mixing. Students were taught how to make secondary and tertiary colors out of primary ones. The simplest way to do so is by putting a different primary color in each hand and then mixing them. This allows direct results As soon as they rub their hands together, a new color appears! 

This activity was elevated by connecting the painting experience with that one of music. During the painting session, classical music was played. Students were encouraged to imagine they are playing an instrument while they are painting.
